A few weeks back, I posted a rather frustrated rant about DishNetwork. It would be unfair for me to not post the result.
Shortly after my post, I was able to work with someone at Dish’s home office. The result was night-and-day different than my previous attempts. He had me an install date for just a few days in the future. The installers came and were very helpful. The receiver had a sound problem, and they called to get me a replacement, which arrived only 2 days later.
All things considered, the experience was very positive once the guy from their home office got involved. The ViP 622 is the best HD DVR out there, in my opinion, and Dish Network’s HD programming is awesome, too - in our area we even get the local channels in HD!
It is too bad that Dish’s excellent programming and equally good receiver (ViP 622) are overshadowed sometimes by their stupid computer systems and poorly-trained India-based CSRs. With a little patience, though, you can break through some of that and get the help you need. In my case, the hassle was worth it :)
